The 12v battery is in the boot of the car. I test my batteries with a multimeter. It's a simple test, but done at your own risk. The car in this video is not a Captur - it's just showing the general principle of testing a car battery...

 

So there's nothing in the software/info screens?

 

I have a 73reg Captur PHEV and get exactly the same warning message. It's happened at the first start of the day. As the warning says STOP I don't drive the car and the message eventually clears after 30 - 60 mins. My Renault garage can't find a code for the message so say nothing can be done. Complained to Renault, their response -try another garage!

Has anyone with this message found a solution?

 

It does look like it might be a 12v battery issue, doesn't it? To be fair to Renault, their idea of finding a different garage might not be a bad one. Or maybe test the battery with a multimeter, as per the video above?

I've just been reading the PHEV manual - it says not to disconnect the 12v battery yourself - it must be done by a dealer. WTF???

How the **** are you supposed to charge it then?

 

It’s no doubt a H&S thing - I believe that most if not all PHEV’s have a connection between the 12 v battery and the HV battery, so potentially dangerous if you do something wrong?
