I think that Renault UK are more likely to be the"rogue traders"; I was first drawn to the Captur by their ads with special finance dealsif you bought and registered within 6 weeks. This implied that there was a ready supply of cars available for almost immediate registration and delivery. To find out that there were no automatics available on these terms due to the long delivery lead-times was a bit of a shock, to put it mildly. I was expecting maybe a limited range of colours/options, but not for there to be no automatics at all available to take advantage of the deals, neither was I expecting a huge 20-week wait for a vehicle (even if I was originally informed that it would be 16-20 weeks).
