Key card battery serves only few weeks, changed battery Tronic with same results. Most of the time I remove it from the car. I even tried to leave it in the car (not in its dashboard slot) ones it is garaged during the night, but having the same result. any suggestion please,? by the way my captur is Ionic diesel 2019 model

I’ve changed the battery in my keycard and it’s only lasted a number of weeks, but the batteries were quite old (3+ years) and not the brand-leading make. I since bought new batteries and a couple of months later I’ve had no problems, so all I can recommend is make sure you have good quality batteries - other than that I can only think of it shorting out somehow although that’s probably unlikely.

my captur s edition 23 plate and previous capturs and previous Clio always used Duracell 2032 batteries. When I bought my 23 plate captur one of keycard batteries went low after a couple of weeks, so when I went to change it I noticed the old one was a cheap 2025, in fact both keycards had these batteries so I changed both to the correct one as per Renault handbook which states 2032 batteries are correct ones. No more keycard issues.

I've used Tronic batteries and they are OK but do not seem to last as long as Duracell or Energiser, so I now use either of those latter two brands
