We've started having these thefts around my area in the last couple of days so I've been investigating to see what I could do about it.
Back on an old post,2013, somebody said that the Renault Capturs (I have the Dynamique 2017) were well protected and I just wondered if that is the same these days, and if not, what are the most cost-effective suggestions on how to protect it?

Cat Theft

Unfortunately there's been a few occurances nearby of people with high ground clearance cars getting their catalytic converters stolen due to the metals inside. So being a bit concerned I checked out my captur and the smart little buggers at Renault have designed the exhaust system so its tucked...

Thanks - I do have a small portable alarm but was thinking more of protecting the actual converter. As they can take it off so quickly an alarm may not put them off.

They use an anglegrinder , which is quick, unless you weld a tunnel over the exaust you are going to have trouble

I have seen advice to parking close to wall or fence to make it difficult for thieves to get access to a cat.
So Guys, my question is where is the cat physically situated underneath a Captur, left, right or centre?
Ok, I’m being lazy, but it is a bit damp out there this morning to get on my knees 😉

I've read that the bolts can be welded. Would that be any good?
