There are 4 updates it appears to be installed on the Renault captur e tech hybrids,
Spoke local Renault dealershup they tell me the update is actually 4 update's as the car as 4 computers that Do different things
I'm hoping one sorts out the high revs issues they have 👺.

I have put the message below I received from Renault,
which outlines the issues the for update.

Our teams have identified your vehicle requires a software update to re-calibrate the engine’s computer. Without this update you may see the “STOP” warning light and "Electrical failure danger" message on your vehicle’s dashboard. You may also experience a breakdown,

But doesn't mention the high revs issue update,
but I'm hoping it's included in the engine recalibration 4 updates 🤔,

I see some have had there update done and they say the engine runs smoother like butter,
now fingers crossed mine does after the updates have been installed😓

I will post back after the 9th June when car goes in the Renault garage to have them done.

OK my dealer is about 45 minutes away from me and what I noticed was prior to the update as a lot of owners have said going from ev to petrol engine at 25 to 35 mph it would over rev and my car and particularly the steering wheel would vibrate now its a lot smoother in transition not silent of course but much Improved
Also I think the car is more responsive and my mpg figure for that journey was almost 65 mpg the best I've seen
I did try to ask my garage what exactly was done all the receptionist could tell was quoting lots of numbers at me of the 4 upgrades I had
All I can say is I am very happy with the improvement
The model I have is the engineered
If you haven't had yours done yet go nag your dealer but to be honest they should get in touch with you

Yes true
car is great till that engine kicks in,

I thought manufacturers are supposed to test the cars before sending off the production line,

U see them.in camouflage driving around for weeks ironing out theses issues,
It seems Renault side stepped this process 👺
and just sold it to customers to find the issues out for them,
they probably just say when they start complaining we will send a few updates out keep them off our backs 👺👺👺

Recall for update also arrived to Italian owners.
I received the update.
I didn't test the petrol engine yet, I don't use it often...
About the EV part, I noticed 2 things, one good, one bad:
1) good: torque cut while crossing 75 km/h is now less felt, even with accelerator pedal totally down.
2) bad: at low speed, just a slight touch on accelerator makes the car suddenly accelerate; quite uncomfortable.

Hi to everyone.

I'ver had my captur updated (I'm from Spain) and I've detected jump jack issue, when you reach, for example, to a roundabout at low speed and you slightly touch the accelerator, no matter how carefoul you are, most times you feel a sudden bump of acceleration, wich is really annoying when driving in the city

Hello everybody!

I too have experienced the throttle response issue - it’s like the throttle now goes. From 0 to 20 rather than increasing gradually.

Can I ask that if anyone is experiencing this (and it’s a royal PIA) please tell your dealer. I have raised this with Renault and they are stubbornly saying there couldn’t possibly be a problem with the update - and anyway, no one else has reported it.

Also, if you have noticed it, can you say so on here please?

Thanks

My 2020 Captur kept giving messages that the Key Card battery was low. Despite me twice replacing the battery with genuine and correct battery. So my dealer asked me to bring the car in. But when I went there I had an almost THREE week wait for the service booking !
That was today 11/09/23. Took the car in today and was told it was subject to a recall ? No prior notice or explanation why ?
The Receptionist said it was to do with instances of engine cutting out etc.
They loaned me a car to get home and I’m now awaiting a call to say the problems I am having and the recall have been resolved.

My Captur is still doing this, even after the update. It always seems to be when I have just started out on my journey (5-10 minutes in) and it's always up or down hill. It still freaks me out and the first thing I do is release the accelerator, which does absolutely nothing of course, being a hybrid.

My dealer says they haven't heard of the issue either.

Complaining to Renault is also totally useless. I've tried this and they say, "speak to your local dealer to investigate". You do this and they can't find anything wrong. So, you get the car back and the issue persists. The dealer then doesn't seem to communicate to Renault that there are customers claiming to have issues, hence the problem never gets picked up.

The only way to get them to notice is to collectively complain about it. But I don't suspect for one moment that they lurk in this forum...

No! The process is exactly this! Complain to Renault; they record the complain; you notify the issue to to dealer; he tells you nothing can be done.

The dealer then doesn't seem to communicate to Renault that there are customers claiming to have issues, hence the problem never gets picked up.
But you will go back to Renault saying "dealer was not able to fix the issue, my car is still broken".
Keep going, let's see what happens after 1 million of email/phone complains rather than social network complains..

I was told last week at my dealership that the over revving issue is known to Renault and they are in the process of starting a diagnostic but will take time to address? I have the same issue but mine has been a lot more dangerous. My car (for eg on a dual carriageway) will suddenly over rev and the acceleration goes and have to wait a few seconds for the motor to gain acceleration and then I can carry on! Only problem is, the acceleration drops so much I end up with cars screaming up behind me at speed which is incredibly dangerous. It only happening uphill. I have recontacted our garage again today after chatting with the manager last week.

My Captur has just had its first service and when asked about the engine update, I was told there wasn't one. After talking about the issue with a senior technician, I was told that this was perfectly normal and the reason it does that is because it needs a quick charge for the high voltage motor. The Arkana is the same. They even checked to make sure the engine was running as it should on their diagnostic system and everything was fine. I even got the printout to prove it.

So, there you go. There is no update.
