We went to the supermarket today, i dropped my wife off out side the store and i went to park the car but i forgot my wife had the keycard in her handbag! The engine kept going but when i got to the parking space the engine would not turn off on the stop/start button so i had to sit in the car with the engine running untill my wife came out!

Take that as a lesson learned.

If you had parked the carfirst and escorted her around the shops, you would never have found yourself in that predicament.

Don't know why this sometimes happens. It happened to me the other day. Had the keys in my pocket, I had to place the key in the reader before I could stop the engine.

I thought if the engine was running that you were supposed to get a warning when the person with the keycard had gone more than about 50 metres from the car?

You do get a warning, as soon as the keycard is out of the car you get bleeping and message on the dash informing you that the car doesn't detect the keycard.
