Angry, upset, annoyed, just devestated that some selfish nasty person has opened their door onto mine and created a lovely dink and crease:( Of course they didn't own up to it and what makes it worse is that it's a work colleague or neighbour that did it. I know it's not worth fixing for resale, but for me ? Is it worth it? Anyone got any opinion?

Bad luck mate. I wouldn't be very happy either. So far I've been lucky (and it is luck), alls Ive had is a chip repaired on the windscreen. I allways try to park against an end or a wall or anything to cut my chances of a door dink down. Favourite for this is a windy day and kids in the back of their mums car throwing the door open to get out without looking how near the car next to them is.

Makes your blood boil doesn't it

Depending on the shape of the dent, look for a local mobile dent specialist like dent-tech.
I've seen guys like this make a dent disapear without breaking the paint

Had it happened so many times over the years and paid hundreds of pounds to dent removal companies, been very lucky with the Captur but I know it'll happen soon

Why is it you can park as far away from shop entrances as possible and when you come out theres always someone about a foot from your door.....

I know it's always bound to happen, but I think sometimes we are trying too hard to prevent it. Almost tempting fate by being so careful. Then it seems so unfair when it does...

Think your right TBH Bluejay as I don't take anywhere near as much care with my van and that never seems to get hit (touching wood) but with your pride and joy??? always.....

My local Renault dealer charges £49 for a repair on a door dent. See if yours charge similar.
I feel for you, I'm dreading when it'll no doubt happen to mine.

Bad Luck Bluejay......its very annoying though!!!
I think I can claim the record for the fastest dink/mark.......When I picked my Captur up last year from the dealer as I was sat in the showroom at the desk signing all the papers I could see my Captur waiting for me........I watched in dread as an old scrote who was picking up his new "disabled" car parked alongside.......he didnt quite manage to open his door on it but made a good job of getting his walking sticks out of his old car and promptly battered them on my new one....that I hadnt even signed for at that point...........I jumped up and when I saw this......salesman thought he had lost a sale I was that quick zipping outside......there was indeed a small mark but thankfully it polished off........no dink thankfully.........its carelesness most of the time with other car owners!!!

How annoying Bluejay.. as you can see by the other posts its everyone's pet hate..especially when it wasn't your fault. The tennis ball trick works on a small even dent..don't know if it would work on a crease. You cut ball in half and use it as a suction cup to pull out the dent??? I'd bite the bullet mate and get the dent people out to repaire it..You'll feel better Bluejay.Best of luck with it mate.

Bad news. Think I would get it fixed. Had a dint in my new Megan , but didn't bother having it done. Every time I look at the car I see it. Should it ever happen when I pick up the new Captur, I will be on to Dent Teck.
