Had my new 1.5dci now for 48 hours. Looks a stunner with black body and Arizona roof and touch pack. Drives really well. I do a lot of business miles and it just purrs along at the speeds I need it to just fine. However, the car is not without issues. Not risen above 50mpg combined yet but overall I'm getting 550 miles from a £60 tank.
1. The dealership forgot to register my R-Link which has corrupted the system and I'm now dealing with central technical. This is going to take weeks. They're a nice bunch in DSG Morecambe but they either weren't given enough info by Renault to do their job properly, or they just weren't doing their job properly. This has been a serious let down for me and really taken the gloss of getting a new car. You'd think at these prices people/companys would be professional and knowledgeable.
2. Not sure my rain sensitive wipers are working. Doesn't seem to do more than what conventional wipers would do. Was this part of the commissioning checks at DSG? I doubt it. For this reason I need to go back to the dealership.
3. Fog/turning lights have already misted up after 2 days. Is there a sealant problem? Need to keep my eye on these.
4. Shame the cruise control buttons on the wheel are just painted on. Would have been handy to have these illuminated at night.
5. Hand Frees isn't as intuitive as Renault have provided before. Where before you'd simply just slip your hand into the handle you have to press a button on the handle now. Is that truly hands free? It's key free but not Hands Free.
With the R-Link you get the upgraded hi-fi. This is well worth purchasing as the sound quality is stunning. I've got a digital radio linked in through the aux in and this completes the sound system. Tom Tom works really well too and I can see myself moving from my iPhone App to taking on the car system.
So. Almost 1000 miles in and apart from totally avoidable dealership woes the car is generally on good form and I'm sure six months from now I'll be pleased I chose the Captur over the Duke of Kia alternatives.
Hope this helps. G
