hi, is there a master reset button to the media nav, I've been having a few faults with my 2014 Captur radio/sat nav/ Bluetooth.... so I decided to do the upgrade as shown by renault in you tube, everything went well until the final part after the nav screen saying upgrade complete I just get the Renault screen and nothing else, the unit turns on after its been off for a while but only shows the renault screen and nothing else. Currently trying it disconnected overnight and will try again tomorrow.

Perhaps you have a MediaNav and behave like is blocked.
According of car year should be a MN1 standard.
You can try disconnect battery for 1 min, but I don't think will solve the problem.
What you describe is like memory NAND fault. It's unable to read it.

Similar problem here. There might be a solution if the medianav still recognises a USB.

Here’s the Renault media nav site

I was looking for info on what is the latest maps and when looking at the uk section
it lists a link to another site saying if you have problems after updating
then download another program

Renault Media Nav (Evolution)

Could anyone answer my question WHAT IS THE LATEST UK MAP VERSION

@dick riculous
The latest UK map version is 2019.Q4 as I know.

@twodogs
One bricked unit can't be revived unfortunately disconecting battery. When is looping in logo or stay in logo there is problem with reading NAND memory.

Emailed media nav and after giving all of details they replied a day later asking for more details and then replied a day later to say they couldn't do anything and I should take it to a local dealer who would be happy to help, didn't fancy paying dealer prices so rang a local radio specialist who confirmed it was locked out and fitted a 2nd hand one for me, all is good again :). I wouldn't recommend trying to update yourself, the local lad said he's had loads of these and the dealer are either unwilling to help or they want a fortune.

These MN1 units are not in production anymore and of course the Renault dealer can't do anything.
They don't do anything not even for new units MN3, just change in warranty.
Who knows to fix it, can do that.

In my opinion from experience Renault MediNav was without doubt one of the worst media sat nav units ever built.
I had constant issues with mine and renault wanted nothing to do with it as well as the dealership where bought.
Poor touch screen, poor phone connection, annoying noise on sat nav that beeped constantly.
Poor updates with toolbox software.
Eventually found documentation under spare wheel where dealership had actually replaced original unit with new
unit and still problems persisted.
thanks (n)

@Kootzee
In some translation is like this their code ULC= Ultra Low Cost.
But apart MN1 which was the first model build, so far all other units are still in running without any fail. And I include also MN1 which from 2013 many still are working.
So please compare with RNS310, RNS315, RNS510, LCN1, LCN2, MIB1, MIB2, MMI 2G, RNS--E and I can give more and see the rate of fail working from natural causes in these and compare with MediNav. Compare also their options and you will be surprised that Renault with these Low Cost units made better job then VW - Audi group for example.
I can say you don't know what you speak about.
If you don't know use it at it's full potential is your problem.
But the tastes are not discussing. I respect your taste if like something else anyway.

Regarding dealers service is same policy everywhere. No one debugg pice by pice to fix your unit. If not working just replace all unit. If is in warranty is free. If not you have to pay for new part.
That's the bussines.
But many guys are dealing with sat navs and if are good guys they know to make it working well when need.

I agree, swapped out mine 2 years ago for a bespoke aftermarket Android octo core no problems with connections.

Hi,
I have just had the same problem.
I was updating the official software via the toolbox, it crashed during the update and now just loops through the update process on the medianav and does not fully complete no matter how long you leave it running.
They confirmed it's now beyond repair.
I contacted the Renault customer Service but all the came back with was a 10pc discount if I have it replaced at an authorised dealer at a cost of £650!!!!!!!!!! That is for a reconditioned unit, and they keep mine!!! - so they can recondition it and sell it on again when someone elses breaks. It was the Renault dealer that told me that!
Customer service confirmed I did everything correctly, as too did the Renault dealer and also the Renault technician. All of these people also confirmed that they see this all the time and the media nav is notoriously bad for it.
So Renault must know there is a problem with it.

Surely they should have some kind of responsibility seeing as it was an official update for their product?!?!?!

If they recondition it, they must be wiping it and putting new software back on it. Why cant they just do that with mine?? That surely isn't £650 worth of work...

I'm thoroughly pee'd off with them.
Anyone know where I can get a stereo system that can replace the media nav?

For sure you have a MediaNav MN1 Standard, old model.
They will never tell you that these units have a kind of memory which now after so many years working is passing away.
These can be fixed and even upgrade to next stage as MN2 Evolution for who knows.
Your experience with dealer is bad and is what they are teached to do and sell.
I was argue few days ago with someone who defend the Renault dealers telling me that they are offering just good price for replacing units, but seams is not true.
