First long distance trip after first 500 miles of city pottering<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

300 miles, mostly 80 MPH (130 kph) motorway : 37 MPG (7.7 l/100)@avg speed 54 MPH (87 kph)

Then, at destination, 200 miles, 80% local 56 MPH (90 kph) roads +20% town pottering : 41 MPG (6.9 l/100)@avg speed 29 MPH (47 kph)

(AC permanently on of course)

Consumption steadily improving, now 1100 miles on the clock

Comfortable car, smooth engine/box combo allowing (cruise control on) to swallow up steep gradients without any apparent effort and sufficient reserve for overtaking swiftly when necessary.

Cruise control rather efficient.

Eco mode useful when cruising along to dampen the box's enthusiasm and moderate automatic kick downs in certain circumstances.

Re. headlights which have received some criticisms, found them perfectly all right.
