Due to a couple of blemishes in the bonnet of the Captur; Renault have agreed to strip the bonnet & re-spray. This may be a blessing in disguise as we have already picked up a couple of stone chips on it in it's first two weeks. Chips seem to have got through to a white under layer so a full bonnet re-spray seems a good idea.
Given that in the UK I believe that paint shops use water based paints what if the original paint job, done in the Valladolid plant in Spain is cellulose. That would not auger well for long term matching of bonnet & wings.
Does anyone know what the original paint is?

Yup Ythsie, Don't take you Captur out in the rain. You'll end up with puddle of beige and black around the wheels.
