SOLVED ! Releasing a stuck fuel filler door

It would seem that most renault's use a solenoid to open/unlock
the fuel filler door.

The solenoid is linked to the central locking, but can be prone to failure.

Here's a video showing the same system on a clio

So I had this issue with my Captur Dynamique Australian model.. but randomly solved it by pressing the window lock button - go figure!!! If anyone can explain.. please do!

I pulled into the petrol station at near zero fuel, went to open petrol door and was not budging.. I googled and found this forum and tried everything suggested! But I couldn’t find this magical leaver that you speak of.

I called roadside assistance which came and said there was no magical leaver, and tried a little to pry the door - no luck!

They went to take a quick look at the fuse, and noticed the window lock button was up, they pressed it in and ouila the petrol door opened!
