Hello everyone,
I am pushed to the wall with my Renault Captur 2014 1.5dCi. I have a problem with the battery charging system. When you start the car after a few seconds on the dash shows up a message - Battery Charging Fault - with battery indicator ON (RED). I have checked the alternator charging current and even with this fault on the alternator was charging the battery up to 15.4volts. A friend of mine has a Launch diagnostic tool. He said they are two fault codes - UPC Module reporting DF057 - Battery Disconnection Unit. Short To Earth, DF079 Battery Current Sensor, Communication Disrupted. I have called a garage for help. They said the battery is dead. They have put a new one. The problem wasn't solved. Then they said it's the alternator + New sensor which is attached to the negative terminal on the battery - a new alternator was installed yesterday + the sensor and still the same fault even worse. Now the alternator is not charging at all.
The bill is going up and up and I cant use the car. I have asked my friend to run diagnostic on the car again and now after all these new parts I still have the same errors + DF007 UPC-Alternator Link, Invalid.
Please help because I don't know what to do now. The garage saying they can't do anything else. I am out of pocket with lots of ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ.
