Sat Nav Speed Limit Warning

We have a 2004 Captur and find that the Sat Nav Speed Warning seems to get stuck. So, for example entering a 30mph limit and the warning changes to 30mph, but on leaving the limit it stays at 30mph. The result of this is that we get constant warning beeps as if we are exceeding the speed limit. Very annoying on a long journey

Is this a known fault? or do I need to update the maps?

I believe the Speed limits are identified by the Windscreen detector via road signs.
So if the speed limit changes but there's no signage or it's obscured then it will stay the same until it finally sees a sign.
I notice it now and again.
You can turn the speed warning beep off in the settings if you need to.

Thank you, that makes sense. I had assumed that it was done by GPS
