Temporarily adjust headlight beam for Europe

Hi all, I’m driving to France tomorrow and I unsterstand from the manual that I can adjust my headlights so I don’t need to buy those ugly beam benders... trouble is, I don’t really understand what the manual is telling me to look at and I can’t see a + or - t the bit I think I have to turn (and I don’t want to f*** up my lights completely). Has anyone done this that can help me please?! I need it in idiot speak!

Looking under the bonnet the adjustment wheel is on the “top”, and “central”, it's rear of the light and coloured white you will need a torx driver to adjust it, if you find it you will see that it operates a little black toothed gear vertically behind it. Number 1 on the diagram

It would not cost you much to have any garage adjust it, your car will not pass a uk mot
unless it correct at the time of an mot.
