Is it there all the time or worse when the engine is cold?

 

I think is all the time.


If is the turbo, then is normal? Does turbo cars whistle? I am not sure if the car is turbo or not. How do I find out? (sorry, I'm not the smartest when it comes to cars)

Yes, turbos whistle because they are spinning at tens of thousands of rpm

 

Hi, i bought a captur tce 2016 model from a showroom in UAE.
Same thing, when the car is around 30kph to 40kph just when accelerating, i can hear a whistle, its a siren like but not loud. Its just there then when turbo kicks in and decelerating no noise.
My power is also ok i dont lose any. Pls anyone can answer my query? Is the tce 1.2 engine really makes that whining not too loud noise when turbo is kicking in? Hoping for reply.

 

Without hearing your car it is difficult to say, but if you notice the noise more when the engine is under load, and it is quiet when you are decelerating or coasting, then it is almost certainly the turbo. Some are noisier than others, also some people notice the noise more than other people

 

so it means this is normal , ya?

 

Again, without hearing your car it is not possible to say if it is "normal" noise or too loud.... but there is always some whistling sound with a turbo engine

Hi? We hear the same noise i guess. We have the same model of car. How is it now? So far mine is fine. Just confused of the noise tho

 

As some stated, some may notice, some don't. I can hear a very soft whine for me. But only is the radio\multimedia is off...

Most of the time, I don't even notice it.
