My very friendly local garage has already had it up and checked all easily accessible wiring, no obvious issues. But it’s going in today for them to have a really good check and it’s not coming out until it’s sorted. Hopefully!

Not uncommon, especially with all the wiring surrounding modern engine and gearbox installations. It's not uniquely a Renault problem. Some insulation materials are particularly tasty to mice and rats.

Hello, I have the same problem can you please tell me where is the exact location of that wiring loom, BTW my car is renault capture 2016 tce 1.5
Hi, just seen this message. The wiring loom was at the rear of the engine and it had rubbed through on a gearbox bolt. Accessed from underneath. It was repaired by an auto electrician so didn’t see exactly where it was but I’ll try to find the photo and repost.

Having problems with my captur 1.2 tce blowing a fuse. It brings up the STOP light and spanner light and displays the message “Engine Failure Hazard”.
Driving ok then fault comes on, engine running normally.

Traced to 15 amp fuse blown next to blue box (ECU?) under the bonnet. Brings up 15 or so faults on the local garage diagnostic machine. All clear when the fuse is replaced. But keeps blowing fuse at intermittent times. On replacing the fuse the last time the cooling fan cut in, so at least I know one thing that it feeds!

Any help appreciated on engine failure hazard renault.
Hello. My 17 registered Kadjar (1.5DCi) with 41,000 miles has been solid, reliable and fault-free since I bought it in mid-2018. However this morning when I tried to start it the engine made a couple of grunts and then the red “Engine Failure Hazard” red light appeared. It then refused to do anything. I went for a walk and then tried again a few hours later. Th first attempt resulted in another couple of grunts but the red lamp didn’t illuminate this time. I tried again and the engine slowly started and after a few grumbles recovered to behave as normal. So – my question: I google’d the warning lamp and injector failure appeared as a candidate. It’s been pretty icy here and I hadn’t started the car for several days. Could it have been down to fuel freezing a little and then a thaw meaning there was moisture in the injectors which has now pulled through? I’m not a teckie so my thinking may well be flawed. But I’m hoping that was it as it may have been a one-off. Has anyone else had this issue? By the way – by sheer coincidence I’d booked my car in with Renault for a major service just an hour before the problem. You’d have thought the car would have been grateful instead of misbehaving !

It could be anything really. A frozen fuel pipe is a possibility (water caught in the filter). No sure what you mean by "refused to do anything". You might also have a 6+ yr old battery. If so I would suspect that.

Help!! Similar issues to the above. My kadjar 17 plate, warning light came up engine failure hazard-stop. It then went off and then back On a few weeks later, it was initially checked and couldn't see any issues and the engine was running as normal coolant was low. After a service and again another look around couldn't figure out what it was, diagnostic came back with fuel management. I've been to two mechanics and both said possible issues, one being the fuel pump and another one said the ecm. The engine management light has now gone on. This car is on finance, ideally will be swapping it therefore I don't want to be paying out for it. Any suggestions on what it could be? Is it best to see an auto electrician instead? Just to add other things happened around the same time a dash cam was fitted Hard wired, this has now been removed to eliminate the issue. Other things such as door open, warning when leaned on the drivers door, and car locking and key not opening has also happened. Any suggestions, thank you
